The trauma team is a surgeon-led multidisciplinary team that continues to care for the critically injured patients during their hospital stay. The team is a surgeon-led multidisciplinary team where every team member contributes to patient care through daily collaboration and team visits. Each year, we serve nearly 8 million patient visits of all different types, including around 100,000 surgeries and deliver more than 20,000 babies. Team members remain with the patient until transferred from the emergency department to the operating room, critical care unit or surgical floor.
